A couple of training milestones can be achieved during this evening's final Hatrick race-meeting for the 2015-16 racing season.
Greyhounds from the Lisa Ahern and John McInerney kennels have visited the top of Hatrick podium during virtually all meetings throughout the season.
This evening, the possibility of Ahern bringing up her 400th training success is very real, while a similar scenario applies to the McInerney team as they chase down their 600th training victory for the current term.
Over the past week the Ahern kennel has churned out a staggering 15 winners at three-meetings.
They start tonight sitting on 395 winners and she has accepted with 20 greyhounds this evening.
Her prospects of bringing up the 400th win here are bright, however if she misses this evening she is likely to achieve the milestone during the season's last race meeting at Manukau on Sunday, where Ahern has a strong team engaged.
Sound winning claims for this evening's meeting can be made for the following Ahern mentored chasers: Allegro Beaty (Race 2), Subic Bay (3), Allegro Class (4), Cosmic Boss (5), High Percentage (8), Wild Effective (9), Ready Made Size (10), Americano (11), while Cranky Pants and Let's Go Sprite can make their presence felt in the last.
Meanwhile McInerney, whose kennels broke through the million dollar stakes earning barrier for the season on Tuesday, commenced last night's Christchurch meeting sitting on 593 winners.
He had a number of sound looking chances there, plus also during this afternoon's low-grade Addington meeting.
Looking at this evening, the leading McInerney prospects from his ten acceptors include Kay Marting (Race 1), Vito Baxter (3), Pacific Vibe (6) and Homebush Ramona (9).
Another trainer who has also enjoyed considerable Hatrick success throughout the season is Matt Roberts.
He currently sits third on the national Trainers' Premiership table with 280 season winners prior to the commencement of yesterday's racing.
