The Whanganui Police officer accused of corruption can now be named.
Name suppression for Constable Hayden Clifford Bradley, 30, was lifted by consent in the Whanganui District Court this week.
Bradley is accused of seeking a bribe of sexual favours from a woman in return for not proceeding with prosecution of a driving offence.
He was suspended from duty in February.
In July, Bradley's counsel, Susan Hughes QC, applied for an oral evidence order for one witness to give evidence before a trial.
If granted, a committal hearing will be held in front of a judicial officer and the witness will give evidence and be cross-examined. It will then be decided if there is enough evidence for the matter to go to trial.
A decision on the application has been reserved.
