A galaxy of players who have won national honours in a variety of grades are included in the more than 200 registrations so far received for the Wanganui Rugby Football Union's 125th jubilee on Queen's Birthday weekend.
They are headed by the All Black trio of 86-year-old Peter Henderson (Mt. Maunganui), Bill Osborne (Hutt Valley) and Andrew Donald.
Maori All Blacks attending are Osborne, Trevor Olney, Theo Kipa (Feilding) and Nig Paki Paki (Thames) and triallist Jack Karatau.
New Zealand triallists include Henderson, Osborne, Donald, Maurie O'Connell, Alex O'Connell, Shaun Crowley, Bob Barrell and Roger Green (Auckland).
Four NZ Juniors - Green, John Hainsworth, Geoff Neilson (Te Puke) and Graeme Coleman (Mt. Manganui) - are returning for the jubilee dinner on Saturday, June 2nd when Sir Colin Meads will be the main guest speaker.
Wanganui has been represented by numerous NZ Divisional and NZ Heartland reps in recent years who are included in the registrations.
Nick Botica (Whangaparaoa), who played 20 times for Wanganui in 1964-66 and is the father of former All Black Frano Botica, is one of a number of players coming from the Auckland area.
Sixteen WRFU presidents, including Colin Pedley (Auckland) and Lynton Pyne (Wairoa), are amongst the administrators already registered.
Judy Gurzinski, former secretary of the Wanganui Rugby Supporters' Club, is coming from Chain Valley Bay in New South Wales.
The number of attendees is projected to reach the 250 mark in the coming two weeks.
There have been steady enquiries for a limited number of heritage collector's match balls which are being manufactured for the jubilee and will include the names of all 17 Wanganui All Blacks, the union's match centurions, the years Wanganui won its six national championship titles, and the WRFU 125th logo on the four brown leather panels.
Supporters are welcome to attend the reunion by contacting the WRFU on 06 349 2313.
