Big Time Paddy's aspirations of a third Group 1 title evaporated at trap rise in last Friday's New Zealand Futurity final.
The Lisa Cole-trained greyhound was rocking back on his paws when the traps lifted, then he found himself being squeezed when denied racing room during the early rush for positions.
He has drawn to extract his revenge from the one trap in this evening's main 520m event (Race 10) at Hatrick.
Bigtime Paddy has compiled an outstanding record whenever he has been sighted wearing the red racing vest.
Looming as his main danger is his kennelmate Bigtime Levi.
He thundered through his Monday 457m Manawatu assignment in a swift 25.89s.
Cole holds what looks like a stranglehold on this event as No Time Toulouse and Bigtime Liam appeal as place chances here.
The preceding C4 520m race is stacked full of chasers who are likely to be sighted contesting open class races in the very near future.
Included is the pair of Cole prepared NZ Futurity finalists Bigtime Wendle and Bigtime Tears with the later finishing a bold third in the Group 1 final.
Demanding respect from trap one is Quistis Bale who has dropped out of the open class chasing ranks.
She is trained by Matt Roberts, who mentored the stunning NZ Futurity winner Cawbourne Krusty.
The meeting wraps up with two open class 305m sprints where again Cole trained sprinters are expected to dominate.
In Race 11, Allegro Gun, Sir Duggie and Daisy Lara are expected to make their presence felt, while in the last race look towards Missing Allegro and the fresh-up Bigtime Crackem to feature.
Mark down Friday, July 27 as an evening of greyhound racing action not to be missed.
It will feature the second running of the $30,500 Amazing Chase, which sees two greyhounds racing head-to-head in four 520m match races.
They are not only racing against themselves, but also the clock as the overall race placings will be decided by the times they record.
Last year's inaugural Amazing Chase was exactly that – amazing.
It resulted in just 200th of a second separating the first three place-getters, with it coming down to the final match race which produced the overall winner.
Qualifying for July's event will be held over coming weeks on the Hatrick, Manukau and Addington tracks.
The quickest times recorded on those tracks will see those greyhounds contesting the rich final at Hatrick.
