Dis-locate is the name of the exhibition currently hosted by the The Rayner Brothers at their guest space Gallery 85 in Glasgow St.
Works by 11 artists who live or have lived on Waiheke Island have contributed to the group exhibition curated by artist Jillian Karl.
Gordon H Brown, Calvin Hona, Peter Ireland, Sue McKenzie, Rose McLeod, Coral Pearson-Revel, Jan Robertson, Jo Smith Jackie O'Brien and Karl have contributed their work to the exhibition and all the works signify loss.
"Loss bites deep, leaving ones we love," says Karl.
"We all know it and have known it."
The works are a mix of paintings, prints, ceramic, glass and O'Brien's In Your Skin a video installation inspired by the story of Louisa Sarah Cox who once lived at 85 Glasgow St.
Learning that Louisa lost three of her six sons in World War I inspired the video which the artist says she thinks of as "The Louisa Cox Wanganui Memorial".
Dis-locate is open for viewing at 85 Glasgow St, Open 2pm to 4pm daily until November 18. Jillian Karl will be available to talk about the exhibition from 11.30am to 12pm on Saturdays.
