A gallery and gift shop in Drews Ave, Whanganui has unique decorations for the body, house and garden.
Creations Gallery and Gift Shop is run by a collective of five artists who have a diverse range of abilities.
For those in the market for something to wear, there are Rose McLeod's deconstructed and recycled garments.
Using only natural textiles, fibre artist McLeod selects garments made of wool, silks and cottons and fashions them in to something new.
"They are all one-offs," she says as she takes some newly made spring and summer creations from the rack.
Dresses and skirts have been fashioned from mixed patterned fabrics of the same type and weight.
"I have a masters degree in fibre art from Otago and I really enjoy de-constructing garments and re-fashioning them in to something new and unique," say McLeod.
She also makes shoulder bags and anyone looking for accessories can choose from Barabara Bullock's array of glass beadware or her fused glass jewellery.
There are also fused glass wall plaques and outdoor wall and garden art by Barbara Bowness constructed from wood and copper.
Then there are Jan Penn's original Powertex (fabric hardener) figurines, varied media artworks and chalk painted decor and furniture items.
Mel Ackroyd's quilts range from cot size to king size with an array of colours and patterns.
"It is something I always wanted to do," she says. "I took it up seriously when I retired in 2006 and I can make a big quilt in three days now if I'm not doing anything else."
There are workshops on offer for those who wish to try their hand at some of the art forms.
Barbara Bullock offers glass bead making lessons and Jan Penn offers workshops and sells supplies for Powertex and chalk painting.
Screenprinter Andy Deighton is both neighbour and landlord to the gallery crew and he has been inspired to create some artworks of his own.
His mounted photographic works printed on canvas and nifty candle holders made from re-purposed spoons are for sale at the gallery.
A room off the main gallery has become a "treasure room" for displaying a range of pre-loved items for sale.
Creations at 25a Drews Ave is open from 10am till 3pm Monday to Saturday.
