Textiles is the theme of Whanganui Regional Museum's holiday programme these holidays.
The holiday programme kicked off on Tuesday and will continue every weekday, except Anzac Day, for the rest of the school holidays.
At the first workshop around 20 children were taught by the museum programmes officer, Riah King-Wall, how to make juggling balls - and then how to juggle them.
"I'm very happy for the turn-out for the first workshop," Ms King-Wall said.
Other workshops include traditional textile crafts such as weaving and embroidery, as well as more contemporary skills such as tie-dying.
"Most will be taught by me, but sometimes we will bring someone else in to help," Ms King-Wall said.
She said this is the third time that the museum has delivered its school holiday programme from its temporary premises in Ridgway St.
"We've done some really fun stuff here - and it's convenient being right in town. A few of our messier workshops are being held in the main museum in Watt St, but most are in Ridgway St."
The workshops begin every weekday at 11am and Ms King-Wall said it was essential to book. You can book by visiting 62 Ridgway St, calling 06 3491110 or emailing info@wrm.org.nz. Entry is by koha/donation.
