Country music star Joy Adams will perform at the Castlecliff Club in a free concert on Saturday.
Organiser Vince Leatherby said 21 sponsors were on board for the concert, which is a fundraiser for the Child Cancer Foundation.
"We held one last year and we raised more than $2000 for the cause. Our aim is to beat that this year," Mr Leatherby said.
Ms Adams is the only New Zealander to be invited to perform at the Grand Old Opry in the home of country music - Nashville, Tennessee - and has also performed widely overseas.
Local musicians also performing at the concert include Alan Bailey, Greg Burtenshaw, Sue Te Rangi, Gillian Bailey and Elaine Holden.
The show begins with local musicians at 2pm. Ms Adams will take the stage at 5.30pm.
