The man accused of assaulting a colleague at Whanganui High School has been offered diversion.
Springvale man Paul Frederick Hardcastle, 61, appeared before a registrar in the Whanganui District Court yesterday.
Hardcastle has not yet entered a plea on one charge of common assault against a female senior staff member on June 21.
He was working as a teacher's aide at the high school.
Hardcastle, who was represented by Stephen Ross, was remanded to August 9 to complete diversion.
If he has completed diversion by then, his appearance will be excused.
-Board of trustees chairman Randal Southee yesterday told the Chronicle that Hardcastle had resigned since the alleged incident.
