The works of local and national artists make up the latest exhibition at Whanganui UCOL's Edith Gallery.
New Space, New Place opened on Wednesday and will run until November 11.
Arts lecturer Lorraine Webb said the exhibition celebrates the gallery opening after the strengthening and refurbishment of the Whanganui School of Design heritage buildings on Taupo Quay.
"It is exciting for us to be able to showcase our new facilities to not only the local arts community, but also members of the national arts community," Ms Webb said.
She said the gallery would have a particular focus on education. It will be used by Whanganui UCOL students as well as working artists in Wanganui and elsewhere.
The gallery has been moved from its temporary location, and is now more accessible to the general public, with an entrance directly off Taupo Quay.
"It's also next to the Community Education Service and across the road from the Wanganui Community Arts Centre, so it has that real connection with the arts community," Ms Webb said.
From the start of 2016, all creative students at the Whanganui School of Design - which includes visual arts and fashion design - will be located in the heritage buildings on Taupo Quay.
