We have reached the last opportunity to mark a spot on the scorecard for next week's annual NZME. 2015 Golf Tournament for Businesses.
Previously known under the Wanganui Chronicle banner, the ambrose tournament is for teams of four, with any level of golfing ability, and will be held at the Castlecliff Golf Club on Friday, February 27, 11.30am-7.30pm.
The Chronicle and Classic Hits are each putting up $1500 of free advertising for the winning team and $500 each for the second business house to promote its goods or services.
Organiser Bronnie Taylor, the Chronicle's real estate and advertising sales consultant, said 13 teams had registered, although she was aiming for at least 18.
Additional sponsors are also sought to support the tournament by offering products and services for a host of other prizes.
"This is a great opportunity to promote your business even if you cannot field a team on the day," Taylor said.
The tournament is a fun day out and a chance to pit business against business with golf skills the weapon of choice.
"Why wouldn't anyone want to take a Friday off and play golf, especially in such a fun and friendly environment?"
Lunch will be Georgie Pie courtesy of sponsor McDonald's, followed by a slap-up dinner including hot roast beef, gravy, horseradish and mustard, hot ham with apple sauce, fresh buns, salads like rice, pasta, greens and orange ginger.
To register or be a sponsor, contact Bronnie Taylor on 349 0710 ext 50873 or email bronnie.taylor@wanganuichronicle.co.nz.
