Photographer Willem Lombard's work has taken a darker turn.
His latest exhibition is currently showing at Chronicle Glass, and it's titled A Monochromatic Outlook.
True to its name, the moody images of this exhibition show stormy seas, cold rivers, and misty roads in mostly black and white.
"I usually use a lot of bold colours, but these images are conceptual, landscape and abstract," Mr Lombard said.
Most of the photos were taken in the wider Wanganui region, with many of them taken along the Whanganui River Road.
One of the photos in this exhibition, So Damn Quiet, won Mr Lombard second place in the Photography Film or Digital Award of the 2013 Taranaki Arts Awards. It shows the power pylons on the Desert Rd, looming out of the mist.
"It was amazing to have won second place; it was a complete surprise," Mr Lombard said.
His photos are in hot demand - on the opening night he sold 10 prints.
A Monochromatic Outlook runs at Chronicle Glass until April 30.
