Wanganui's new district council will be sworn officially in at the end of this month.
The 12 councillors and returning mayor Annette Main have their first meeting on October 30 in the War Memorial Centre's Pioneer Room.
The venue was chosen because it provides room for families, friends and supporters who wish to witness the proceedings.
Among those taking the council oath will be eight incumbent councillors and four new ones from Saturday's local body elections.
The newcomers are Helen Craig, Jenny Duncan, Charlie Anderson and Martin Visser, and they will line up with Sue Westwood, Philippa Baker-Hogan, Hamish McDouall, Jack Bullock, Ray Stevens, Michael Laws, Rangi Wills and Rob Vinsen.
The agenda will be given over entirely to the swearing-in ceremony, although that could change if there are any major issues that need to be considered before the council's next full meeting on November 11.
Ms Main said while she will have the position of deputy mayor "sorted out", the selection of chairs of council committees would come later.
