If life is like a chocolate box, then the flavour will be dancing on the night of Friday, March 10 as Whanganui celebrates the final fling of La Fiesta 2017.
Chocolate Box are a duo from Wellington - Vanessa Stacey and Lisa Tomlins - who with their great vocals and beats will get the dance floor pumping.
The venue will be the Musicians' Club building, also known as the Savage Hall, and this event will round up the glorious festival programme with an opportunity to dance till you drop.
Vanessa Stacey, as well as performing regularly in Wellington and at festivals round the country also has another life as actress and television director. Her musical sidekick Lisa Tomlins has sung alongside a roll-call of great New Zealand musicians including Rhombus, Hollie Smith, Shapeshifter, Fat Freddy's Drop, Trinity Roots, The Little Bushman, Eru Dangerspiel, Recloose, Opensouls and Fly My Pretties and she has provided backing vocals for Neil Finn.
The evening is also an open invite to Whanganui's great women performers [and men who support them] to do short sets as a warm up to give people time to get their dancing shoes on - so get down early if you want to play and get your name on the board.
The doors will open at 7pm and the music will kick off at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the Royal Wanganui Opera House, $15 for adults and $12 for Women's Network supporters and Whanganui Musicians Club members [$15 door sales]. All profits from the night will go to supporting the valuable community work done by the Women's Network.
