I am notoriously busy most of the time, but this week seems to have been crammed full of the usual . . . books, knitting, community, kids.
But given Open Studios last weekend and this coming weekend, I have managed to squeeze in some art into my days to exhibit as part of the LiterARTies at the Gonville Café Library. Such a brilliant mix of art, books, coffee and people engaging with it all in a gorgeous setting.
I know I have spoken about the power of books and what they can bring into your life; books have brought me many things - an education, escapism, friendship, love and opportunities. One of those opportunities is the chance to collaborate and exhibit with two fellow book lovers and members of my book clubs with pieces of work inspired loosely by pieces of literature. A different way of appreciating literature in a very visual and unique way.
If you haven't been around some of the artists' studios participating in the Whanganui Open Studios, I actively encourage you to take some time this weekend and see some of our talented and diverse local artists.
The launch of the Knitting Group charity project for 2015, based at the Gonville Café Library will be happening next week - watch this space.
