Award-winning former Black Sox head coach and player Mark Sorenson knows a thing or two about team performance and he's coming to Whanganui to share some tips.
Sorenson was named world coach of the year by the World Baseball Softball Confederation after New Zealand's softball team, the Black Sox, won the softball world championship in 2017.
He is also a former captain of the Black Sox and led the team to victory at the world championships in 1996 and 2000.
He came out of retirement and returned to the team in 2004 and it became the first team ever to win three consecutive softball world championships.
Sorenson is now business manager for recruitment company AWF which supplies skilled and semi-skilled staff, particularly for civil, manufacturing, logistics and commercial office-based roles.
He will speak about 'building high performing teams' at the Whanganui Chamber of Commerce's Business After 5 (BA5) event at 5.30pm on Thursday, July 26.
The BA5 will be held at AWF's Whanganui branch and is free for Chamber members and invited guests. Register by emailing ce@whanganuichamber.net.nz
