Seven Wairarapa people have had their photographs of that magical day when it snowed featured in White Out - The Historic Snowfall of 2011, a recently published book featuring snowy moments captured around the country.
Who could forget August 15, when a rare snowstorm blanketed the country, closing schools and businesses, and sending young and old outside to play.
Nicole Baker from Carterton sent in a picture of a woman braving the cold in her dressing gown on the night the snow came in, capturing the snow flakes as they fell in the night.
Mike and Tessa Laven from Martinborough each had two photographs featured in the book taken the next day as the country awoke to a blanket of snow.
Tessa snapped photographs of her horses rugged up against the cold, while Mike captured a family member jumping on a snow-caked trampoline and a picture of his home blanketed in snow.
A picture of St Andrew's Union Church on Main St, Greytown, dusted with snow was taken by Martin Connelly, and a kingfisher perched high on a fence in Masterton was snapped by Heidi Hendrikse.
Gordon Tarrant of Masterton snapped a picture of trees covered in snow and one of sheep trudging through it on a farm.
Also featured in the book were photographs of Chapel Street, Masterton and farmland in Rangitumau by Times-Age photographer Lynda Feringa.
