We all have things we love and hate about where we live, so we asked you, 'What would you change about Hamilton?'.

Here's what you had to say:

It's a great place to live… but I would develop both banks of the Waikato River so that is was a place for families to relax, cafes, restaurants, boutique shops… and no bars!

How about finding a name sponsor for the Claudelands Events Center to generate income? Come to think about it why is it Waikato Stadium and not something like Vodafone Waikato Stadium.

• Build a Wave pool at Innes common or if room at Waterworld. Have surfing comps there as well as fun for family.

• Build a Big Cow (similar to big Pineapple in Queensland)

• Plant more Trees in Claudelands bush area. Extend walkways.

• Help (hasten) the creation of Waiwhakareke native reserve on Baverstock Road.

• Clean the Waikato River, immediately.

• Build the light rail to AKL

• Not sure how but investment in the Waikato University and Innovation Park, maybe subsidize a conference centre and Hotel out that way (could link to the rail)

• Haven't seen the end plans for the roading project (bypass) out past Te Rapa but do we really have to go through 5 roundabouts to get out of city?

James

1.  More and more businesses are shutting up shop and moving to the Te Rapa, "The Base".  PARKING!! Parking is shocking, you have to pay for it, they've got meter maids who give you parking tickets, no wonder more and more people are going to Chartwell and the Base to do their shopping.  Everything in one handy location.

2.  Bring back the Train!!

3.  We need more tourist attractions: ten pin bowling, movies, rose garden, the lake.. what else is there to do and show?

I love Hamilton.

But if there was one thing I would change is that our city focus on the river - have the city turning to look over the river.

Have river taxi or utilise the river to complement our public transport.

Our river is so beautiful - the walking paths are amazing and FREE - I think more of our people enjoying our river, may help us all to slow down a bit and enjoy Gods Creation!

For people who live in the southern parts of Hamilton, or Cambridge, bring back a cinema in CBD seeing as one has just been removed, why should we have to go all the way to Chartwell or the base, I can't afford the petrol to go to those places

I hate the high pitched noise that comes out of the speakers in garden place! So I would change that.  I am glad they are doing up the CBD I like shopping in there, but they should make free parking all weekend, that would bring way more people back there. Free parking at the base is so good!!
