Te Awamutu's Tony Peake is one of eight finalists in this year's Fieldays Rural Bachelor of the Year competition.

Last week we introduced to the first four of the eight Rural Bachelor of the Year finalists who'll be battling it out for the supreme title at Fieldays next week. This week we profile the other four. Ashburton-based Jarred Clode, 32, says he's a happy-go-lucky guy who has everything going for him. Single for three years, Jarred's looking for a Rural Bachelor breakthrough that will lead him to his soul mate.

What did you do for your mum this Mother's Day? Bought her Lotto tickets.

What are you looking for in a partner? Someone who likes the same things as me and likes trying new things. Someone adventurous!

If you weren't in farming, what would you be doing? Maybe in the police force.

If you'd been the bloke on The Bachelor instead of Art Green, would you have chosen Matilda or Dani? (If you watched it, of course!) Alysha from Invercargill.

What is your go-to meal to cook? Lasagne or devilled sausages.

What's your favourite meal to have cooked for you? Roast lamb by my mum.

What are you afraid of? Someone who doesn't talk much.

What do you hope to achieve from your Rural Bachelor experience? A step out of the comfort zone and meet some great people.

What's your worst habit? Leaving dishes lying around too long.

Favourite beach? Mount Maunganui so far.

What's the naughtiest thing you did as a kid that your parents never found out about? Bought lollies with the old man's leftover change.

What do you love about yourself and why? I like my sense of humour.

If you could go back in time, where would you go, what would you do and why? Do an OE when I was 21.

Toilet paper - front or back facing? Whatever way it goes on haha!

What is one piece of advice you would give to your 15-year-old self? Stay focused and something good will always come along. Don't stress about the little things in life.

What brand of gumboots do you swear by? Quatro in winter, Redbands in summer.

What advice would you give to bachelorettes who might try to win your heart? Don't try too hard.

Te Awamutu's Tony Peake, 25, is an adrenalin junkie who lists skydiving, base jumping and boxing as some of his hobbies. By day, he's a dab hand at tractor work, fencing and calving.

What did you do for your mum this Mother's Day? Bought a box of chocolates and gave her a hug.

What are you looking for in a partner? Someone loyal and trusting, someone adventurous who is driven and doesn't take life too seriously. Also not afraid to break the rules every now and then. Hmmm, the list goes on ... probably why I'm still single.

If you weren't in farming, what would you be doing? Pilot, would love to fly something exciting for a living.

What do you order first when you go to pub? Waikato Draught.

Rate your dancing skills, with a one being akin to a possum on drugs and 10 being Michael Jackson reincarnated: Sober - 1. And after too many Waikatos I become a 10, much like my singing.

If you'd been the bloke on The Bachelor instead of Art Green, would you have chosen Matilda or Dani? He chose Matilda, so that means Dani is back on the market? If that's the case, Dani!

What is your go-to meal to cook? Tomato and onion sausages.

Describe your ideal date. Well I thought I knew the ideal date but after watching the dates Art Green took the girls on, I realised I need to up my game!

What you afraid of? Getting badly injured.

What makes you laugh? Friendly, insulting banter.

What do you hope to achieve from your Rural Bachelor experience? Meet a whole lot of new cool people, get comfortable in the spotlight talking in public and the opportunity to meet a nice girl.

What's on your bedside table? A clock and hand cream (for my hands!).

Favourite beach? Pauanui.

What advice would you give to bachelorettes who might try to win your heart? I have to win their heart just as much as they have to win mine.

Rural Direct branch manager Sam McNair, 24, has many passions outside of farming: aviation, rugby, hunting, fishing and playing the bagpipes. He feels like he is missing a female companion to share life with.

What did you do for your mum this Mother's Day? I shot out to the farm and dropped her off a present. Nothing too exciting.

What are you looking for in a partner? Fun, caring, sporty and enjoys a laugh.

If you weren't in farming, what would you be doing? Commercial pilot, for sure.

What do you order first when you go to pub? Tui.

What was the name of your first pet? Charlie Horse the ram.

If you'd been the bloke on The Bachelor instead of Art Green, would you have chosen Matilda or Dani? That perfect pink-haired Dani, for sure!

What is your go-to meal to cook? Devilled sausages.

Describe your ideal date. Doing activities, eating good food and having a good time.

What you afraid of? Spiders.

What do you hope to achieve from your Rural Bachelor experience? Meet new people, push myself and have a good time.

What's your worst habit? Overeating.

Favourite beach? Akitio, Dannevirke.

What's the naughtiest thing you did as a kid that your parents never found out about? Nothing springs to mind, dad was a detective ...

Favourite place to go on holiday, and why? Anywhere away from the work phone. It's hard to beat Lake Waikaremoana on a nice day.

What would you like to change about yourself? Put my gym membership to better use.

If you could go back in time, where would you go, what would you do and why? Back to first year uni, good times.

What advice would you give to bachelorettes who might try to win your heart? Be yourselves and have a good time.

Aussie Daniel 'Dougy' Rogers, 23, works on his parents' property doing general farm work. He finds meeting women difficult. "Living in a fairly isolated area, ladies my age have moved on to the city."

What did you do for your mum this Mother's Day? She got a kiss when I left for my weekend on Friday and a hug when I returned on Monday morning. I rang her Sunday morning as well.

What are you looking for in a partner? Tall, confident and stunning.

If you weren't in farming, what would you be doing? I have no idea - all I have ever wanted was to be on the farm.

What do you order first when you go to pub? A pot of Carlton Draft.

What was the name of your first pet? Mipet, a grey and white whippet.

What do you hope to achieve from your Rural Bachelor experience? Explore New Zealand, meet some cool new people.

What's on your bedside table? Usually one of my two cats, Scotch or Whiskey.

Favourite beach? Long Beach at Robe, South Australia.

What's the naughtiest thing you did as a kid that your parents never found out about? Accidently cutting a hole in the water pipe and then fixing it with duct tape.

Favourite place to go on holiday, and why? Robe, because of the beach and pub.

What advice would you give to bachelorettes who might try to win your heart? Don't be shy.
