The creative process that the boys from Devonport embarked on to produce their third album, Deadly Summer Sway, has come to fruition with a brilliant selection of songs that showcase their usual blues-driven rhythms, like the opener Dogs Of Perfection. Then there's the jazzed-up, youthful soul madness of Ready ToDie and Candyman Shimmer, and the closing sonic epic My Brother.
The album also benefits from its use of the crisp, warm tones of ribbon mics, The Who's 1974 Neve mixing console and 24-track tape used by New York producer Bassy Bob. With these two elements weaving together, the sound produced evolves into an intricate new territory.
