TEXTURED BOB AT SOPHIA WEBSTER

Dramatic shoes below meant taking the beauty look to extremes at Sophia Webster’s fun presentation.

“Taking inspiration from the avant-garde Bauhaus movement of the 70s and the pantomime shapes of the Triadic ballet, this season’s Sophia Webster hair look reinvents traditional textured styles with blunt ends and a dramatic shape that puts a new spin on AW15 hair,” explains Mark.

While the overall look was theatrical for the show, it also translates into something wearable but creative: it’s about getting volume and body into the ends of the hair and keeping the roots flat — perfect to match the colourful shoes down below.

Step one: Use the Toni&Guy Prep Volume Plumping Mousse from root to tip, to add body and movement without any sticky build-up. Follow up with a spritz of Toni&Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist.

Step two: Style the hair by creating a centre parting, and blow dry poker straight followed by a straightener.

Step three: Spray Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo into the roots to add texture and volume. Using your fingers, tease the ends of the hair to add further texture.

PUNK ROLL AT VIVIENNE WESTWOOD RED LABEL

A cool girl with attitude and freedom was the inspiration behind the stand-out hair at Vivienne Westwood Red Label, with Mark focusing on tomboyishness and originality.

He based it loosely on the idea of Vivienne when she was in her later teens. “It’s punk before punk — when punks weren’t as done, pretty and perfect.” The hero product backstage was Toni&Guy Dry Shampoo, which is great for adding a bit of texture.

Step one: Dampen hair with Toni&Guy Prep Volume Plumping Mousse, then blow dry in a backwards motion away from face until dry.

Step two: Apply the Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo to form a textured finish. Section hair from temple to temple, leaving the back section loose; secure with a clip.

Step three: Divide the loose back section down the middle, creating two rolls. Take the top section and twist and place in the centre of the two rolls.

Step four: Amp the punk factor of the look using the Toni&Guy Creative Style Spray Wax on the front fringe, perfect for creating definition and texture.

70S BOHO GLAMOUR AT MATTHEW WILLIAMSON

It’s been dubbed “Rich Girl Hair” — shiny loose waves that can be worn day to night. The look is a perfect match with Matthew Willamson’s collection that focuses on a boho Brit girl.

“The AW15 hair look channelled the heart of the Williamson muse. A Brit girl with high volume and undone curls; it’s effortless glamour,” explains Mark.

Mark’s essential backstage product that you can use at home? The Toni&Guy Glamour 3D Volumizer, to create sky-high volume, perfect for long locks.

Step one: Prep the hair with the Toni&Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist, which helps prevent against damage and breakage caused by heat styling and conditions hair for a soft and smooth finish.

Step two: Create a centre part and spray the Toni&Guy Glamour 3D Volumizer into the roots and mid-lengths before blow-drying.

Step three: Curl the hair mid-way up the hair shaft, section by section, creating loose waves. Spray Toni&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo directly into the crown to add texture and create a backcombed effect. Take a small section from each side of the head, twist and secure in the centre of the back of the head for the prefect head to toe boho look.
