Healthy Meals Made Easy

The range delivers fresh and delicious rice in 90 seconds via microwave, or 3 minutes in a pan, and includes rice and grain combinations like Rice & Grains Brown Rice and Quinoa, Rice & Grains Rice Medley, Rice & Grains Brown & Wild, and Rice & Grains Brown Rice and Quinoa with Tomato and Basil. All variants are Heart Foundation Tick approved and rich in fibre.

That's where celebrity chef Michael Van De Elzen comes in. Van De Elzen has long been vocal in advocating healthy food and that it needn't take long, or be too complicated to prepare. So to welcome the UNCLE BEN's® Rice & Grains range to New Zealand, he has partnered with them to create a range of super simple, and super healthy recipes to help time poor kiwis incorporate healthy and delicious meals into their daily lives.

The recipes include drool-worthy dishes like ‘A Little Spanish Number’ which is a modern twist on a classic Jambalaya and ‘Three-Grain Fried Rice’ - both of which can be prepared and cooked in a little under 15 minutes. But Van De Elzen didn’t stop at dinner, with a delicious lunch-in-a-jar recipe of ‘Brown Rice Tuna Crunch Salad,’ which only takes an unbelievable ten minutes to throw together.

Van De Elzen had this to say about the Uncle Ben's range and recipes: "I want nothing more than for Kiwis to be healthier so for the past six years I've tried to get more veges into people, especially children. My Good from Scratch recipes are designed to be simple and quick to make and of course they contain great ingredients, like UNCLE BEN's® Rice & Grains range. I've loved using these products because they contain exactly what you'd expect rice and grains! The quinoa is my favourite combined with prawns, chorizo, tomatoes, coriander, peppers, cucumber...yum!"

You can find UNCLE BEN'S® Rice & Grains on shelf at your local supermarket. Consider your dinner and lunch sorted. Check out all our UNCLE BEN'S® Rice & Grains recipes developed by Van de Elzen and the Mars Food Nutrition Criteria at www.bite.co.nz.
