This Friday is Pink Shirt Day, a global initiative to encourage people to talk about bullying and make a stand against it. The idea started in Canada in 2007, after a group of students defended another who was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt turning up to school the next day wearing one too.
Help spread the anti-bullying message by pulling out your own favourite pink shirt on Friday May 22, then take a photo and post it on social media, with the hashtag #pinkshirtdayNZ. Glassons will show its support for the anti-bullying campaign too, with staff at stores around the country wearing pink T-shirts and wristbands to help raise awareness. You can also text PINK to 2446 to donate $3 to the Mental Health Foundation, which is sponsoring the day.
