The best thing about winter kicks off this Thursday with another incredible line-up of films. Don't miss seeing something on the opening weekend which includes director Steve Loveridge's documentary Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. about Sri Lankan musician M.I.A.

Matariki Secret Cinema 
A secret pop-up cinema has made its way to Viaduct Harbour and will screen three documentaries chosen by storyteller Pita Turei to reference Auckland's waterfront. Lalele Organic Gelato will be scooping ice cream onsite too. Rug up and cosy on in.

Call your girlfriends  Pah Homestead will be celebrating women through art and dance this Saturday with a special self-guided tour of the galleries and an inter-generational performance by The New Zealand Dance Company. Sustainable Coastlines Charity
A great night supporting an important cause. The annual 'Let's Get Cleaned Up' Charity Ball has moved to the Pullman Hotel for an even bigger bash this year. Expect canapes on arrival, a three-course dinner, drinks and music by Sola Rosa Sound System. Ticket sales go towards looking after coastlines and waterways and there will be live and silent auctions on the night.

Shift Exhibition at Allpress  
Shift marks the first exhibition together for glass sculptor Ben Young and photographer Zico O'Neill. The artists worked to design a sculpture that has been shot on New Zealand's most active volcano, White Island.
