Rabobank farm succession workshops have been so successful that a new series will be rolled out throughout 2026.

Rabobank farm succession workshops have been so successful that a new series will be rolled out throughout 2026.

Today on The Country radio show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with Wairarapa farm accountant Lawrence Field, who is conducting Rabobank farm succession workshops.

On with the show:

Steve Wyn-Harris:

Sitting in for the Prime Minister today is Central Hawke’s Bay farmer (and Labour Party apologist).

He talks about the big dry, Damien O’Connor in Ireland and the beauty of Istanbul.

Lawrence Field:

This Wairarapa farm accountant, and 1995 NZ Sharemilker of the Year, has been conducting the Rabobank farm succession workshops.

The new series of workshops launched earlier this year to support farm succession planning is proving hugely popular with Kiwi farmers and growers.

The launch of the workshops also coincided with the release of Rabobank’s latest industry whitepaper, which examines the succession challenge facing New Zealand’s agricultural sector.

Given the strong interest in the workshops to date, the bank has announced that a new series of workshops will be rolled out throughout 2026.

Farmer Tom Martin:

We track down our UK Correspondent on Armistice Day in Turkey.

We reflect on Istanbul’s strategic importance to world trade, discuss farmer protests against the Inheritance Tax, and banter ahead of the All Blacks v England clash at Twickenham.

Chris Russell:

Our Australian correspondent talks about Wallabies, why Americans love feral goat meat, and his dislike of cats, both feral and domestic.
