Police in Lawrence are seeking the public's help to find two valuable stolen items.
A sheep-crutching machine and spa pool were stolen from the Clutha town in the past few weeks.
The Hector crutching machine (pictured) and trailer it was mounted on were stolen from the sheep yards of an Evans Flat property on the Beaumont Highway in Lawrence on the night of February 20-21, Senior Constable Craig Bennett, of Lawrence, said.
The property was right beside State Highway 1 and it was possible someone driving past at the time saw something, he said.
The machine was air-operated and often used by contractors.
In the same area about 10.30pm on February 27, a spa pool was stolen from the conservatory of a house.
The spa pool could not be seen from the road so whoever stole it might have known it was there, Snr Const Bennett said.
A motorist saw the spa pool on the back of a red ute, believed to be a Mitsubishi Triton, on State Highway 8 later that evening.
Anyone with information that could help find these items or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time is urged to call Lawrence police on (03) 485-1111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The thefts were also a timely reminder for those in rural communities to report suspicious activity to police, Snr Const Bennett said.
