Today The Country celebrates the life of New Zealand's most famous farmer, Sir Colin Meads.
Sir Colin passed away on Sunday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 81. The Country's Jamie Mackay spoke to some of the great man's farming friends and here they pay tribute and farewell the legendary Pinetree.
You can listen to each interview in the Soundcloud embeds below:
Dick Tayler:
We replay our 80th birthday tribute to Pinetree and then we hear from a man who was, quite literally, dying to get to the unveiling of the Sir Colin Meads statue in Te Kuiti. Today he gets the chance to deliver his eulogy, albeit two months late.
Sir Brian Lochore:
A fellow knight, farmer and former team mate pays tribute to his old mate.
Sir David Fagan:
Te Kuiti's second-most famous son pays tribute to its most famous one.
Ian Kirkpatrick:
We yarn to the farmer who scored the greatest All Blacks try ever - scored in Sir Colin's final test match victory in an All Blacks jersey.
Andrew Hore:
We hear from a younger All Black and farmer who grew up on the legend of Sir Colin Meads.
