Before today's news that Rotorua's council had canned plans to import South Korean mud, rural raconteur Jim Hopkins spoke to The Country's Jamie Mackay about the potential foot and mouth threat posed by $90,000 of imported mud for Rotorua's Mudtopia Festival.
Hopkins said the festival was not worth the risk of a foot and mouth outbreak.
Another bio-security threat is closer to home for Jim as mycoplasma bovis has been discovered in farms "up the road" from his home town of Oamaru.
Neighbouring properties have been declared free of the cattle disease which is promising says Hopkins.
Finally Jim and Jamie talk about Jacinda-mania.
