Stupid Robot Fighting will make its second appearance on ESPN this weekend.
Last year the Te Puke invented combat sport that pits robots made from, basically, rubbish and recycling featured on The Ocho, originally a fictitious sports network in the movie Dodgeball.
ESPN2 reinvented The Ocho and once a year, for 24 hours, under the name, the channel showcases the weird and wonderful in competitive pursuits.
This Saturday, ESPN's flagship channel will broadcast an 11-hour slate of seldom seen sports under The Ocho banner.
As well as Stupid Robot Fighting, there will be fan favourites Jelle's marble runs, cherry pit spitting, sign spinning, lawnmower racing and professional arm wrestling.
A world record deadlift attempt by Thor Bjornsson live from Reykjavik, Iceland kicks off the schedule.
