OVER the weekend, Nebulite Taranaki Flyers Swim Squad had ten of the squad compete at the Hawkes Bay /Poverty Bay short-course winter champs at the Flaxmere Pool, Hastings.
Over two hundred competitors saw strong competition in all age groups.
The Flyers showed a strong presence in their age groups with the 11-year-olds competing against 12-year-old swimmers.
In the 13/14-year-old boys events, Julian Weir again showed his outstanding form; winning gold in all nine of his events.
Ryan Cooper and Dylan Arlidge also received medals and made the finals.
In the 11/12-year-old boys, Mathew Anderson made the finals.
Brooke Wells in the 14-year-old girls swam up to her times in her nine events.
In the 11/12-year-old girls events, Brittany Taylor and Joelen Hughson-How both swam personal best times.
Martin Weir (16) and Brock Wilson (17) both were in finals.
In two weeks time 19 flyers will travel to Tauranga to the Bay of Plenty short Course Winter Swimming Champs
