NEBULITE Taranaki Flyers- Swim Stratford 31 swimmers were in great form at the Taranaki 12 years and under Swimming Championships, competing over three sessions at the TSB Pool on the weekend.
Swim Stratford – Flyers won the Clive Wheeler Trophy for the club with the most points for the meet, with New Plymouth Aquatics a close second and Aquablades Taranaki third.
Relay results: - 1st 200m freestyle Boys team, Mathew Anderson Jordon Wood, Cameron Trethewey, Cameron Tofts. 2nd 200m Medley Relay Boys team, Cameron Tofts, Chris Johnson, Mathew Anderson and Cameron Trethewey.
Girls team - 2nd 200m freestyle and 200m Medley , Jordon Hiri Katelyn Simpson,
Grace Taikato and Brittany Taylor.
Taranaki records
Claudia Taylor broke two Taranaki Records for 9yr Girls 100m backstroke, with a time of 1.29.81 lowering Anneka Kilmore of Bellblock's time of 1.29.92, set in 2001.
In the 200m Medley Claudia set a new time of 3.13.41 lowering her own previous time of 3 16.86.
Joshua Gilbert 9yr Boys lowered his own record in the 400, Medley of 7.11.11 swimming 7.02.61.
Nine of the team attained National Junior qualifying times at the meet - Joshua Gilbert, Claudia Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Lauren Wood, Rebecca Brown, Mathew Anderson, Cameron Trethewey, Cameron Tofts and Chris Johnson.
