"Very happy to be re-elected" was the comment from incumbent mayor, Neil Volzke, on receiving the news that he is staying in office after receiving 2519 of the votes to Tony Milham's 390. He will lead a council made up of mainly returning councillors, with just two new faces to thetable; Jono Erwood and Graham Kelly. Commenting on the fact that there aren't many new faces, Neil comments that the fact that all current councillors who sought re-election have been re-elected "is a strong vote of confidence", adding that he feels it "confirms we are heading in the right direction". Neil says he is grateful and humble regarding the support he has received in this election and is really looking forward to the challenges ahead. Tony Milham, in conceding defeat, also acknowledged the support he had received from people, before wishing Neil and the incoming councillors "all the best for the three years ahead". Stratford's rural ward councillors are: John Campbell, with 779 votes, Robin Vickers with 717 votes, Rob Thomson with 657 votes and Graham Kelly with 543 votes. Narrowly missing out on election was Kevin O'Brien with 531 votes, followed by Alan Frost who received 377 votes. Their urban counterparts are Kelvin Squire, who received 1322 votes, followed by Jono Erwood with 1279 votes. The sole female voice on council will be provided by Viv Milner who received 1236 votes. Alan Jamieson also maintains his seat on council, with 1231 votes, as does John Sandford, with 1195 votes. The final seat for the urban ward is claimed by Roger Hignett, who stood for the urban ward this time after moving from his rural home.
