Jinking the ball and dribbling were some of the hockey skills children learnt at a coaching clinic.
During the first week of the school holidays Taranaki Hockey ran a coaching clinic in Stratford and New Plymouth.
Development officer Georgia Ogilvie says the programme taught Year 6-8 hockey players fundamental skills.
"It's an opportunity for kids to learn extra skills and a way to have some fun in the holidays."

She says the sessions ran during the last school holidays as well.
"It gets kids out of the house and doing something during the holidays."
