The Stratford Spinners and Crafts group has been running for over 40 years, and the members say they have no intention of stopping any time soon.
Secretary Deb Kirk says it is a little group which does wool spinning and other crafts.
"I like being in this group because I'm a spinner. We're all like minded people interested in promoting craft."
Last Tuesday, the group was learning how to crochet. Every member was going to produce at least one square each to be made into a blanket for Pregnancy Help.
As well as doing community projects, the group members work at their own crafts.
"We all bring our own crafts to work on. We also have a learning session every couple of months to learn a new craft," Deb says.
The next community project the group is working on is creating slippers for the new entrants at the Avon School.
"We will be going to the school and teaching the children how to make pom-poms to put on their slippers.
The slippers will be made from recycled wool from jumpers. The wool has been dyed nice colours."
The members of the group say there have been friendships made in the group which have lasted a lifetime.
Deb says the group would love to welcome some more members, and she encourages people to come along and have a go.
"Everybody is welcome. You can come to the group to learn a new craft."
■ The Stratford Spinners and Craft group meets once a month on the first Tuesday of every month in the War Memorial TSB Chambers from 9.30am to 11.30am.
