The Village Gallery will hold a new exhibition The Art of Cheesemaking.
The exhibition marks 100 years of the commercial production of rennet at the Bridge Street factory.
Seven artists have been invited and will be exhibiting new artworks in the Dairy Industry theme. Artists include Andrea Nicholas, Henriette Reason, Tony Rumball, Margaret Scott, Kris White, Amy Taunt and Rhonda Bunyan.
The art ranges from abstract to realism. Along with the artworks, there will be dairy memorabilia from the Eltham and Districts Historical Society.
Other things included in the exhibition are a photograph of old Eltham by Paul Connell has no date. If anyone can date it, the society would appreciate it.
An old photo montage of the Styles family farm at Finnerty Rd Ngaere will also be at the gallery which complements Rhonda Bunyan's recent photo of the Ngaere Dairy Factory.
Children from Ngaere School have been busy creating artworks on the dairy theme. These are displayed centre gallery on four large screens.
Members of the Village Gallery have created artworks for the rear gallery display, also on the dairy theme. Paul Burgham has cleverly crafted cheeseboards, while Tracy Mather's wall art of a cheeseboard is definitely not cheese.
