Pieces of art inspired by nature, culture and Star Wars were unveiled this weekend at Stratford's inaugural Stone and Wood Sculpture Symposium.
The back room of the Stratford Club was transformed into an art gallery with the unique pieces on display Saturday and Sunday.
Tracey de Thierry, organiser of the symposium, says she was thrilled with the number of visitors over the weekend.
"It is a great acknowledgement to the artists that so many people came to appreciate the pieces they created."
Peter Mischefski, bar manager of the Stratford Club, officially opened the exhibition on Friday night, and art lovers were welcome to visit the display throughout the weekend.
The artists spent last week sculpting pieces of wood and stone into the works of art that were auctioned off on Sunday afternoon.
Tracey and her partner Tai Meuli would like to thank the Stratford community for all the support given and they hope to bring the event back to Stratford in the future.
The couple also extend their gratitude to all the artists involved and event sponsors Brian Jeffares, Kare Te Paea and Tinaia, Lain and Marilane, Russell Vickers and Vickers Quarry, Bob Swindlehurst, John Te Huehue, Brian Withers and Nathan Rogers.
