Day four of the Olympics might have been unkind to the Kiwis but redemption can arrive as early as tonight.
Another full day of action in Rio will be kicked off by cyclist Linda Villumsen in the women's road time trial, where New Zealand will have a real chance of claiming their first gold medal.
The Kiwi team currently sits on two silvers after a disappointing day today, where injuries, upsets and missed opportunities marred the action.
But Villumsen is a good bet to finish on the podium and alleviate any fans' angst, while Mike Dawson may also be a chance in the canoe slalom.
