Three-times New Zealand tennis champion May Myers has died in England, aged 94. Myers, who played in the women's doubles at Wimbledon in 1937, died in a Hampshire hospital after a short illness.
As May Andrew, she was part of the women's double combination who won the 1929-1930 New Zealandtitle. The following year she won two New Zealand doubles titles - the women's and the mixed.
She is survived by her husband, Geoffrey Myers, formerly of Wellington, a son, two daughters, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
