All Blacks first-five Daniel Carter will join captain Richie McCaw on the sidelines withdrawing from tomorrow's Pool A test match against Canada with a groin injury.
The star pivot was a late withdrawal from the run-on side after aggravating his groin in their captain's run this afternoon in Wellington.
Hehad been named captain in the absence of McCaw who suffered a recurrence of a foot injury on Saturday to rule him out for Sunday's clash.
Carter will be further assessed this evening and an update will be given tomorrow. No further updates will be given at this time.
All Blacks team management have announced that Colin Slade at number 10, with hooker Andrew Hore to captain the side for the first time in his 58-test cap career.
Andy Ellis comes onto the reserves bench with Piri Weepu to cover first-five eighth.
