Competition for backline spots in the All Blacks end of year tour squad has just got even hotter.
Auckland's Isaia Toeava is due back training with the team after next week's Ranfurly Shield Challenge following hip surgery.
Coach Mark Anscombe expects the utility back to play at least a couple of rounds of the ITM Cup and he's sure the All Blacks selectors will consider him.
Toeava's return will add to a plethora of options with the likes of Rene Ranger, Robbie Fruean, Sonny Bill Williams, Benson Stanley, Richard Kahui and Luke McAlister all competing for spots alongside the established combination of Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith.
