Rugby League: Bulldogs players accused of sexual assault

As many as six Bulldogs players have been accused of sexually assaulting a young woman on Saturday night, Australian media are reporting.

A 20-year-old woman made the allegations following a pre-season match between the Bulldogs and Canberra Raiders in Coffs Harbour.

She told police the incidents happened after she met some of the players in Coffs Harbour on Saturday night.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported she was taken by ambulance from the Novotel Pacific Bay resort to the Coffs Harbour hospital on Sunday.

Coffs Harbour police said they have interviewed some players but would make few other comments as they still want to talk to others in their investigation.

Bulldogs players have been told not to say anything about the allegations following interviews by club management.

It is the second year in a row the Bulldogs have faced such investigations, with another woman having claimed she was assaulted in the pre-season last year.

The case was dropped for lack of evidence.
