New Zealander Simon Minoprio sailed a masterful series to win the Warren Jones Youth Regatta on the Swan River in Perth, completing the event with just two losses in 22 matches.
The crunch came when he faced Michael Dunstan, of Sydney, in the penultimate race.
Despite the Australian getting the better start, Minoprio outsailed Dunstan to win by 29s and seal the regatta with a race to spare.
Minoprio, of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, picks up automatic entry to this year's Berlin match-racing event.
