New Zealand's top young riders are on a roll with the successful defence of the Transtasman Shield at the New Zealand Young Horse Showjumping Championships in Taupo.
Dannevirke's Jamie Beatson, Lisa Coupe of Kumeu, Katie McVean from Matangi and Helensville's Anna Trent headed off a team from Queensland and a composite North and South Island team in a series of three tests riding borrowed horses.
New Zealand won the shield in August in Queensland. Beatson, Trent and Coupe were all in that team, with Canterbury rider Diana Wilkins.
Trent, Coupe and McVean are all on New Zealand's Olympic long list.
The next big event on the calendar is the Tauranga New Zealand Equestrian Federation Show this weekend.
