Three New Zealand golfers have qualified to contest the matchplay section of the Australian amateur championships in Perth.
Mathew Holten, of Waikato, Bradley Iles, of Wellington, and New Plymouth's Regan MacRae finished inside the top 32 players after 72 holes of strokeplay ended yesterday.
Mitchell Brown, of New South Wales, topped the qualifiers with a four-round total of eight-under-par 280.
Holten was the best of the New Zealanders, with his three-under 285, followed by Iles on 286 and MacRae on 288.
Wanganui's Riki Kauika finished one shot outside the qualifying mark on 290 after a final-round 73, while Waikato's Brad Shilton faded with a 74 to finish on 292.
In today's first round of matchplay, Holten takes on Brent McCullough, Iles meets Australian junior representative Rick Kulacz and MacRae meets Lester Peterson, the third qualifier.
