This week Hauraki FM hosts Matt and Jerry caught up with Bailey Mackey, the man considered to have produced the greatest commentary moment of all time.
Commentating Ngati Porou East Coast's (NPEC) clash against Poverty Bay in the Mitre 10 Heartland Championship on Saturday, the Pango Productions producer and NPEC union president made an unusual call for assistance.
Overwhelmed by the excitement that his team were ahead 14-5, Mackey asked if anyone was willing to take over commentary so that he could kick off the celebrations early.
"Is anyone keen to commentate the second half?" Mackey asked just before halftime, "If you are, come and find me, I'm in front of the grandstand, pretty keen to go have a feed and a couple of beers."
Talking to Matt Heath and Jeremy Wells, Mackey said he wasn't even meant to do the commentating duties.
"Here's the problem. There is no commentary box in Ruatoria. So I was just commentating on the sideline. And the reality is I wasn't mean to actually commentate." The dude that was meant to commentate just didn't show up and was last seen at a party in Tolaga Bay in the early hours of Saturday morning," Mackey said.

NPEC eventually lost their promising lead to lose the game 19-26, but footage of the hilarious call has been viewed more than 14,000 times after SKY Sport Rugby Commentator, Scotty Stevenson, posted the video on Instagram with the caption: "The greatest commentary of all time. Ever. In any sport. Ever".
In response to humorous comments, Mackey reposted the video to his account claiming that he wanted to inspire other broadcasters.
"Just out here trying to inspire the next generation of broadcasters ok??? Hahaha. For real though it's been 4 years since our last win and we were up at half time and I started over heating..." he wrote.
