Ryan Fox has gone one shot better in his second round of the US Open to sit at five-over par and confirm his place inside the cutline at his first appearance at this championship.
With a round of two-over par, he is now in T29 as golfers continue to go backwards during another difficult day at Shinnecock Hills.
Although he made a double bogey on his back nine, he was able to cancel that out with two crucial birdies to complete a great start to his fourth major championship.

Lydia Ko has recorded five impressive birdies in her bogey-free round to launch inside the top 10 and just two shots off the lead on the LPGA Tour.
Starting the day in a tie for 25th, Ko got things happening from the word go with three birdies in five holes. All her five birdies were made in just 11 holes before a quiet finishing stretch where she was unable to capitalize.
Ko is aiming for her second win of the season and if she is able to capitalize on her recent form, there is no reason why she can't chase down the current leaders.
