Kiwi Supercars racer Shane van Gisbergen will go drifting again - this time at the Honeywell Garrett International Drift Challenge at the World Time Attack Challenge event at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The reigning Supercars champion will drive an MCA-prepared Nissan 370Z (heavily modified) at the event and has been involved with the team on two previous occasions.
The 28-year-old Kiwi has plenty of drifting experience on both sides of the Tasman. His Red Bull Holden Racing Team even turned his Supercars Holden into a drift car last year.
"I am seriously looking forward to getting back into a competitive drift car," Van Gisbergen told motorsport website speedcafe.
"I did the promo shoot for Red Bull last year at SMP but due to my busy work schedule I have not driven in a drift competition for quite a while and I really miss it.
"I really like working with the MCA guys too. This is going to be fun for sure but I will certainly be pushing for the win particularly against some of the world's best."
Van Gisbergen trails countryman Scott McLaughlin by 231 points in this year's championship and lies fourth behind Red Bull Holden teammate Jamie Whincup and fellow Kiwi Fabian Coulthard.
