Tennis fans were privy to a bit of on court romance at the ASB Classic in Auckland this afternoon when one fan proposed to his partner of 15 years at the end of the first semi final.
Before the large crowd gathered Ralph Chang, 30, walked into the middle of the court, ring box in hand, to pop the question to partner Cathy Qin, 30.
Ms Qin, who initially thought she'd come on court to win a tennis prize, got a little more than she'd bargained for, but happily said yes.
Mr Chang said pulling off the proposal "was a dream come true".
"I have always wanted to do something special and unique when it came to proposing to Cathy and have been thinking about the execution for a long time.
"Given the scale of the proposal I had a lot of help with several different parties involved. It was nearly impossible to keep this a secret."
• Moët & Chandon and Naveya & Sloane both played an instrumental role in the proposal.
