It's been 733 days since All Whites fans last had reason to celebrate, with this morning's disappointing 1-1 draw with Myanmar extending the side's winning drought to 11 matches.
All Whites supporters have been forced to subsist on the memories of the glorious 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia way back on September 5, 2013.
Since then they've lost matches against United Arab Emirates, Mexico (x2), Japan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, and South Korea, and drawn games with Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa, China, and Myanmar.
The wait is surely most frustrating for New Zealand coach Anthony Hudson, who is yet to register a win in the five games played since he took on the role in August last year.
The wait is set to continue, with the All Whites next fixture likely to be in May next year, although they may yet play during the friendly window in November.
With all this time on our hands, and not much to cheer about, we now have the chance for a period of reflection.
Let's take a look back at some of the notable and memorable world and national events that dominated the news since the All Whites last raised their arms in celebration.
