New Zealand A have made it two wins from as many games on their trip to the United Arab Emirates.
Having beaten the hosts comfortably early in the week, NZ A beat Afghanistan by 105 runs at the International Cricket Council's academy ground in Dubai early today.
NZ A made an ordinary 204 in their 50 overs, of which opener Anton Devcich hit 55, Nathan McCullum 44 and Colin de Grandhomme a run-a-ball 34.
A spicy pitch made life testing for the batsmen, as the Afghans, preparing for next year's World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, discovered.
They were rolled for 99 in 38.5 overs, of which Mirwais Ashraf top scored with 30.
From seven for three there would be no comeback for Afghanistan. Captain Kyle Mills took three for 16, fellow seamers Mitch McClenaghan and Doug Bracewell took two apiece, and Matt Henry and de Grandhomme one wicket each.
NZ A next face Ireland on the same ground on Saturday night.
